A toroidal electromagnet is an electromagnet made of multiple turns of winding, shaped like a toroid or cylinder, that generates a strong magnetic field when energized. Its basic structural principle is to utilize the magnetic force generated when current flows through the windings, concentrating it within an iron core. In other words, by changing the direction and magnitude of the current in the windings, the magnetic field can be controlled. A toroidal electromagnet generally consists of windings, an iron core, and a power source.
